How To Get To The Festival
Click the map below to open Google Maps with the most important places marked.
Day trip to Kutná Hora (Friday 27th July)
We will publish exact details about this trip closer to the event, but there will be a train trip to Kutná Hora, and at least 2 buses back to Prague and the hotels. There will be a small charge for a bus ticket to cover costs.
The Kutná Hora bus will stop in Roztoky, and maybe Suchdol if there is enough demand.
To The Festival (Saturday 28th July, Sunday 29th July)
Únětice is situated just outside of Prague and is a 15 minute drive from the airport. But the road works in Únětice make things difficult.
If you are arriving by car from Prague, we recommend that you drive via Roztoky. From the airport or highway, we recommend to reach Únětice from the North. On the upper, northern side of Únětice there is plenty of available parking space, near the Sokolovna pub and in the housing development Svaty Jan above the pub. Please be considerate to the residents and do not block access to houses and garages.
Suchdol will also be cut off from Unětice due to their road works. If you are in accommodation in Suchdol, you can drive to Lysolaje and Horoměřice.
This Google map may also help you get here. The recommended routes are marked there.
Public transport in Prague is usually easy and efficient. However, during the festival period there will be road works in the main road of Únětice village. This means some limitations in bus transport. You can get to Únětice by bus line 355 from metro Dejvická, Prague to Horoměřice (Lidl), where you change to X359. You will not need another ticket. Similarly, the bus line X359 gets you to Horoměřice (Lidl) where you transfer to 355.
Click the timetable below to download it as PDF file.
The last bus from Únětice to Dejvická metro station leaves at 23.29. Make sure you don't miss it!
On the festival days, we will have extra public transport links available, especially the last buses to Horoměřice and Prague.
Suchdol will also be cut off from Unětice due to their road works. If you are in accommodation in Suchdol, you can catch a 147 or 107 bus towards Prague and get off at Podbaba where you can catch the 355 to Horoměřice.
If you are accommodated in Roztoky, do not worry. The buses 359 on Saturday and Sunday between Roztoky and the festival will not be running. However, there will be a shuttle service from the Hotel Academic to the festival from 9.30 to 12.00 on Saturday and Sunday. He will also be doing return trips between 21.30 and 11.45 on both Saturday and Sunday. The cost per trip will be 40 CZK.
When travelling in Prague, you usually choose between 30 minutes ticket for 24 CZK and 90 minutes ticket for 32 CZK. You can buy tickets in all metro stations. Únětice are just outside of Prague and these tickets are not sufficient. You have basically two possibilities:
- Buy a combined ticket for Prague and Únětice valid for 90 minutes for 40 CZK, or
- With a valid Prague ticket, pay additional surcharge 12 CZK to the bus driver. Be careful about the ticket validity. The bus drive from Dejvická to Únětice takes approx. 22 minutes.
Keep your tickets with you as the fines are nasty.
It is not advisable to catch a taxi on the street, call one, I normally use AAA taxis, their dispatching no. is: 14014 and they speak English.
Emergency numbers are:
Fire - 150
Medical Emergency (Ambulance/First Aid) - 155
